40 Likely to Die Before 40 by 40 Various Artists
four a reader might get a general impression that Beach Sloth quite enjoys a
nice collection every now and again. Opening up this day is the fantastic Lucy
K Shaw, one of a select few who has bothered publishing Beach Sloth with
relative ease. Few have the fortitude to publish the strange musings of Beach
Sloth but then few have that strength that comes from living in Toronto,
Canada, one of the toughest parts of the world.
Shaw sits on the lawn of a grand park. A status looms overhead. Some
relationship forms. This is living in New York City. Everyone trying to achieve
the same thing (immortality) in different ways. Because of the way society
works there is a way for everyone to get a small piece of that attention, the
micro-fame and re-blogs that come with it. However that is a tremendous waste
of time. A good use of time is simply enjoying the small moments of life,
remembering them, and cherishing their fleeting nature.
Duncan Worthington admires the stoicism of inanimate objects. Nobody grows up
being an inanimate object they become one through hard work. Lots of work is
required to avoid genuine human emotion and empathy but anything is possible in
the big city. Pretty much a good way to avoid brooding is either to become an
inanimate object or to get laid. Sometimes both things are possible.
Hinton walks among the sleeping. It is a surreal experience. Everybody enjoys
sleeping but nobody enjoys being observed in the act of sleeping. Judgment is
supposed to be reserved for the conscious but why must this be? A better idea
is to simply watch people sleep and get a sense of them with their guard down
brain off lightly snoring. Few can achieve such peace during the waking hours
of the day. Life does not allow calm like that to remain calm for long.
Jean Alexander understands there is no room for error in this Brave New World.
The cowardly lion never had a chance. Lots of lies are told to people by each
other in a collective effort to avoid reality. Hope comes from mouths as does
love. From the mouths of babes comes incredible truths. Every day people try to
reach the truth and on good days they succeed. To-Do lists are memories brought
into the future. Life is pre-fabricated with a To-Do list. Few ever check
everything off from their To-Do list. Plenty of things are left to chance
because that is the way life should be lived: with organization but not too
Sarah Jean Alexander seems to be a perfectly apt way of ending things off on a
high note. However this is by no means the end of things as there is
fortunately a part two just above the horizon.
